The update adds to a string of recent economic developments across Kirkland, part of a broader trend reshaping local balance sheets this year.
"We've put a lot of work into getting this right, and people are already noticing the difference," said Michael Ortega, regional economist in Kirkland.
Analysts point to Kirkland's expanding workforce and comparatively steady cost of doing business relative to Seattle's core. The shift is expected to affect roughly 45 million dollars in local economic activity over the next two years, according to figures reviewed by the Evergreen Ledger.
"This is exactly the kind of progress our community deserves." — Michael Ortega
Local officials say they will continue tracking the impact on jobs and tax revenue in the months ahead.
