The update adds to a string of recent economic developments across Puyallup, part of a broader trend reshaping local balance sheets this year.

"It's a big step forward for Puyallup, and it wouldn't have happened without a lot of people pulling in the same direction," said Megan Walker, city finance director.

Analysts point to Puyallup's expanding workforce and comparatively steady cost of doing business relative to Seattle's core. The shift is expected to affect roughly 52 million dollars in local economic activity over the next two years, according to figures reviewed by the Evergreen Ledger.

Local officials say they will continue tracking the impact on jobs and tax revenue in the months ahead.
